I’m Jake Ryan, designer, illustrator, and graphic artist, and I love what I do. Faceless Creative is a full-service design studio specializing in branding development, print and poster design, editorial layouts, illustration, and apparel. It’s hard to say exactly when it started. Maybe it was when I was stapling graph paper together in middle school and creating my own skateboard catalogs. I’d get these crazy skateboard catalogs in the mail and I was obsessed with all the different board logos and the branding and how each board company had its own style and I’d mimic that in my creations. I would make my own, from front to back. I’d draw and create my own brands, board graphics, t-shirts, etc., I’d even set aside pages to create my own ads in. all while I was supposed to be paying attention in science class.
Maybe it started in high school when I was playing in bands and would doodle endless logos for the names and what the t-shirts would look like inside the pages of my textbooks. I’d have logos and t-shirts and flyers drawn up for “bands” that I was in that didn’t even have all the members we needed yet or before we’d written our first song. I loved playing music but my favorite part was the art that went along with it. That love for design grew with me.
It developed into an all-out obsession when I got my first computer. My empty pockets and D-I-Y attitude let me to create shirts, logos, cd packaging, and social media graphics for those bands I was in. Then we’d play with another band, who’d see our stuff and want me to do their graphics. That led to doing more work for other bands, which led to designing for an array of clients and projects, and that lead to me starting my own design business right out of high school and this thing that I love to do became my career. Now it’s all I do and I love every minute of it.
A few years later, I did the degree thing, worked for a screen-printer, worked for a marketing agency, became an Art Director for several magazines at a publishing house, ran my own brick and mortar studio and screen-printing business, created original illustrated books and toy products for some of the largest brands in movies and licensing, and I currently lead a team of 11 designers as a lead designer at one of the largest retail and e-commerce sites in the United States, all the while still busting out logos and t-shirt graphics for start-ups, bands, and small businesses all across the globe.

TEAM

Shelly | Project Manager
Shelly is relatively new to the team. An 11-year-old veteran pocket pittie who Faceless and Co adopted in 2023. She goes by many names, a favorite being Shelly Bean Burrito Supreme. She mostly just lounges around in the sun but she is integral to providing excuses for screen breaks when she demands a walk.
Randall | Account Executive
Always has a bone to pick with someone. Thinks he's soooooo humerus. Keeps the calm around the office, because nothing gets under his skin. Always honest with coworkers and clients, because we can see right through him anyway.
